Who is this beast??

This will be brief, as Matthew is actually home, and I'd like to spend time with him. He was home all week this week, and only worked late (i.e., after the boys' bedtime, which is what really matters right now) twice!

However, the next three weeks will be brutal, as he will be gone Mon-Thurs, Mon-Thurs, Mon-Thurs. And that's Monday morning, before the boys get up, to Thursday night, after they're in bed.

Biiiiiiig sigh.

I feel like the Little Engine That Could.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

Anyway, things here in the Amick house are nice. Busy but nice.

Andrew is as cute and funny (and noisy) as ever.

Benjamin's health is good, and he has been thoroughly enjoying playing (even running!!!) outside. (Though he pretty much needs a one-to-one adult ratio b/c he doesn't understand how to stay in our yard or out of the road.)

Thomas is perfect. He was five weeks old on Thursday. SERIOUSLY??? I know this sounds ridiculous, but I feel like his life is just going by *far* too quickly! Five weeks? That's more than a month! LOL

He is already going four hours in between feedings during the day, takes three good naps a day (with a few exceptions where he is just fussy and has to be worn in the sling or put in the swing), and goes 5-7 hours at night.

And he is growing like a flippin' weed.

I am not kidding.

It's no secret that I have big babies.

Andrew was 8 lbs, 11 oz and 21 in. at five days overdue.
Benjamin was 8 lbs, 6 oz and 20.5 in. at seven days early.
Thomas was 9 lbs, 7 oz and 21 in. at nine days early.

Andrew was a slow gainer due to his horrible breastfeeding skills.
Benjamin was a good eater but was a slow gainer due to his heart defects, as a result of his Down syndrome.
Thomas, however, has no hindrances. He is a good eater and has no health issues.

And so he, at five weeks old, is already *this* close to 12 POUNDS. (He was 11 lbs, 13 oz on Wed.)

Andrew weighed in at 11 lbs, 10 oz when he was three MONTHS old.
Benjamin weighed in at 11 lbs, 8 oz when he was three MONTHS old.

I put Thomas in a 0-3m outfit yesterday that fit perfectly. And I had visions of a series of pictures of Benjamin wearing that same outfit on our Labor Day weekend. When he was over five months old.

Thomas is holding most of his fat in his cheeks, as he doesn't really have the big fat rolls (yet).

He has already started smiling. He smiled at 5 weeks, 1 day. At the ceiling fan. (Don't babies love those??)

And for those readers who might remember my boys' monthly rocking chair pictures, here is Thomas's one month picture.

Something tells me the outfit ain't gonna last.

LOL, he's a biggun! I love big boys, both of mine were on the hefty side, although Grif has stayed remarkably short for some reason. So cute.
