Amazingly grateful

This picture was snapped last Saturday, about an hour or so after I finished my fourth half marathon. It was a hard race--the hills and wind were brutal (to me, at least), and I was too focused on trying to beat my best time. (I was 18 seconds short.)

But the most wonderful thing about the race was the money that YOU  raised for the Area 4 Special Olympics!! Not only was I the top fundraiser for the Special Olympics, I was the overall top fundraiser, and the Special Olympics was the top-raising charity!! The head of the organization was just ecstatic, and I was so honored to raise money for them! (You can read about it on their website; click here.)

So I have run four half marathons since December. My times were 2:27, 2:26, 2:35, and 2:26. I am taking a break from long-distance running for awhile. I have several local 5Ks coming up, as well as a 15K and a 10K. But I may not run another half marathon until late in the year or next year. But I will run more. :)

I miss blogging. I am going to start next month (that would be tomorrow) with a (short) daily post. Kind of a getting-to-know-you thing.

I am beyond thankful for all your donations for my half marathon. You helped raise $2,188.10 for the Area 4 Special Olympics!!

I'm psyched to know we'll get more blog posts!

Congrats on the running (does 18 seconds really count in beating old times? So close... isn't that simnply a rounding error? LOL) and the amazing fundraising for such a worthy cause.
