Happy Halloween! (Just a wee bit late...)

Here it is, December 7, and time is moving quickly.

Yet going slowly.

Which is nice.

Except when it's not.

Huh?

Thankfully, the fall months have been mostly kind as far as illness is concerned. We had one bout of sickness in October, but everyone's been mainly well for weeks and weeks.

I love that.

Though it makes me nervous.

Here's what the past few months/weeks have held for us.

Andrew loved Halloween. He loves all things scary and spooky. He loves bad guys and pirates.

Though I'm happy to report that the good guys always win, and the bad guys are always killed. Le sigh...

We decorated a pumpkin for his school's contest.

And he actually won first place in the traditional category! (And, no, the judges did not know beforehand that he is the principal's grandson.)

Then we had a lovely Halloween. The weather was mild, and we had family over to eat, hand out candy, and trick-or-treat. (And let me just say that I planned on posting the below pictures in some sort of chronological order, but Blogger is evidently mad at me for my long absence, and I don't have the patience to rearrange them. Suffice it to say that I posted some of these for cuteness, others for funny faces, and others for a true testament on how hard it is to get a picture where everyone is looking at the camera.)

Every time we have everyone over for holidays or birthday parties, we say, "This was fun! We should do it more often! Really!"

But then life gets in the way, and we don't.

I suppose that's how most things are.

The next posts (Yes! There will be some more! Try not to pee your pants.) will contain details of our daily exciting life which may or may not include bragging-type pictures of my adorable children and also an update on my running progress.

I am so happy to hear someone say the time is going slow for them. It is flashing by at he speed of ligth around here. I want to slow down and simplify, but I just can't get through the committments on my plate now to make room for just plain ol' enjoying my kids.
