Last year, when I first started Weight Watchers, one of my friends told me about Hungry Girl. It's an awesome website that puts out info about smarter and healthier foods/snacks/drinks, etc. I subscribe to their email newsletter, and I *often* find helpful information.

This morning, waiting for me in my inbox was the 2010 Halloween Candy Guide. I put it on FB, but here it is for you blog friends. I would rather set aside a few points and actually enjoy my candy than to sit in a dark closet, shoveling in Reese's Cups like there's no tomorrow. It's like a budget. When you set aside money for new shoes, you can go confidently into the store and have no buyer's remorse. This is like a candy budget. You just have to set a reasonable "budget" and stick to it!

Chocolate 101: Size Matters!

Before you chew, know the difference between Snack Size, Fun Size, and Miniatures...

Miniatures/Minis are the square-shaped morsels -- those babies are each about a quarter of an ounce in weight.

A Snack Size or Fun Size chocolate treat weighs in at a little more than half an ounce and is usually about 2 inches long.

Not all size-categorized treats are created equal. We've found seemingly identical Fun Size bars on shelves -- same brand, same flavor -- with varying weights and calorie counts. If you want to be extra-careful, we recommend going by the higher set of stats listed below.
