That's what I get for making fun

Earlier today I shared this on my Facebook page:

http://www.doihavepigflu.com/

I thought it was funny. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine.

Then an hour or so later, I started feeling bad.

Really bad.

And while I am fairly certain I do not have the swine flu, I am most definitely sick. Ever since about 10:00 a.m. today, I have felt extremely achy, feverish (101.6 at the highest so far), tired, congested, and my head is killing me. Heck, even my eyeballs hurt. I always know when I am sick when my knuckles hurt when I crack them. Yep, I'm sick.

The saddest part of all of this is that I didn't get to go weigh in at Weight Watchers tonight. I was really looking forward to getting out of the house. Matthew has been busy with work or church or the doctor (he was feeling bad on Monday) every weeknight this week, and I've been on dinner (ugh), bath, and bedtime duty with both boys for three nights in a row. Hmm...maybe that's why I'm sick. Mommy Duty Overload.

Either way, I am feeling horrible. Just horrible. Nothing seems to be helping, but thankfully I am not throwing up or having any other kind of nastiness. Just really achy. Especially my head. Did I mention that my head really hurts?

I was able to get both boys down for their naps early (with a lot of prayer to get Benjamin to go to sleep b/c he'd only been awake for about two hours from his morning nap) and then I took a two-hour nap. Unfortunately, when I woke up, I felt worse. But my mom graciously came over and got Andrew, and Matthew has been taking care of Benjamin nonstop since he came home. He also made me some really tasty peanut butter saltine sandwiches and poured just the right amount of Sweet N Low into my unsweet tea.

Then he took Benjamin and went to Walmart to buy me some Sprite. Regular, not diet. Because there are some things that you need when you're sick. Like Regular Sprite. And a shower. I think I finally feel unwoozy enough to manage a shower. I was having a hard enough time walking from one room to the other earlier today. The thought of having to lather my hair just made my head hurt even worse.

So let this be a lesson to us all. Don't make fun of something or you're gonna get it.

Nah, I still think that website is funny.

I only hope Andrew and Benjamin don't get sick. Especially because we have an appointment at Master Portrait on Saturday at noon to get family pictures taken. I hope I don't still look like death warmed over. At least I've lost 15 pounds and I don't feel like my face is as fat.

Oh, I forgot to update over here. Sometimes I put stuff on Facebook and forget about the blog. Sorry! As of last Thursday, my total weight loss (in nine weeks) was 14.8 pounds. I have no idea how much I lost this week. Maybe a pound? Maybe less? So we'll just say 15.

I can now wear a pair of jeans that I couldn't even zip before. That's the good news. The bad news is that before kids, they were my "fat" jeans. LOL

Also, we got a package in the mail today from my MIL. Birthday presents for me, Andrew, and "Ben." Plus a card where she wrote some sentimental hogwash. Sorry, I'm not buying it. Matthew and I opened it, unwrapped the presents, then put the entire box in the car to be taken to Goodwill. I just can't accept them. Mother's Day is next week, and Matthew has no plans to call her. At this point, there just isn't much to say. (If you don't know the back story, click here.)

Okay, off to shower. Maybe. All this fast typing and sitting up straight has made me hurt. I might just need some Sprite.

Mommy Duty Overload doesn't cause fever, at least it never has for me. I hope some Tylenol and some rest helps you greatly. If not, head to your friendly doctor el pronto, missy!

I thought the facebook link was funny when I saw it on there! Sorry you don't feel good though!! Hopefully no one else gets it in the house. Also, try not to let the mil thing get to you- I know that's hard though-such a crummy (for lack of a better word-or, instead of a bad word:) situation!

Classic symptom of the flu is a headache....I'm just saying. I'm sure it's not the swine flu, but it's possible it is the other stuff and if that's the case, you need to get thee to the dr. ASAP to get swabbed and then to the pharmacy! I'm so sorry Angela! That sucks so bad feeling bad and then having to still do everything you do all day everyday anyway! Hope you feel better very soon!

LOL! You DO need to come see it. Maybe you can do something with it! Yesterday was not as completely terrible as Friday night. I managed to "fix" it so that I wasn't ashamed to leave the house, but I still don't like it.

By the way, are you feeling better now? I was getting worried about you there for a minute.

Happy Mother's Day!
