Happy Pi Day to Me!

Today is March 14. My birthday. (3.14 in math is pi, hence my bday is Pi Day.) Today I turn 32. I know that for many of you who are already in your 30s or older, that probably doesn't sound that old. But it still seems kind of surreal to me that I'm in my 30s. Remember the line in Deana Carter's Strawberry Wine--"I still remember when 30 was old"? Yeah, I still remember that too. I guess when I was younger (teens and early 20s), and 30 seemed so far away, I didn't realize that people in their 30s were just people like I am...only older. Kind of dumb, right? Like I didn't realize up until last April that parents with children who have Down syndrome are just parents just like I am, only their child has an extra chromosome. Anyway, I guess the difference is that people in their 30s often have come to this realization and aren't quite as egocentric as those younger folks.

Last night I spent the night at my parents' house, and today I got to sleep in until 9:30. I would have slept (much) later, but I had to get up and get ready for my 90-minute massage! (Mom and I each got one b/c we had gift certificates to a spa from when Benjamin was born.)

Now I am at their house again while the boys nap. Family is coming over here tonight for my SIL's yummy crab cakes and low-fat birthday cake. I am hoping we can finally break out the Seinfeld Scene It game I got for Christmas. I shall dominate.

I will slip my weekly weigh-in here in the middle of my birthday post. LOL I did okay this week. On Thursday night at WW, I lost 0.8 pound. Not nearly what I was hoping. I had a great week--worked out five times and didn't go over on my points. I suppose I need to start drinking more water and maybe making some healthier choices with my points, but I realize that this is a process, and over the course of two weeks, I have lost 5.6 pounds, so that is good. (I also realize that Thursday night was a bad time of the month to step on a scale, if you catch my drift...)

I need to go now so that I can take advantage of naptime. More later. :)

Hope you had a happy birthday! Keep up the good work at WW. It's definitely a process...and eventually a lifestyle change...but you'll get there! You're already smokin' hot, but you'll be super smokin' hot when you reach your goal weight! :) Good luck!

Happy Birthday! Pi Day, I LOVE it, how clever! Great job on WW. I did well on it for a few months then got into some bad habits again. So I'm doing Nutrisystem right now.

hang in there with the weight loss... next week you will probably have a big loss. i skipped WW this week, and need to get back on track today. i had to stop looking at my weekly loss and look at the total weight loss. so you should celebrate the fact you are down 5.6 lbs!!!

i hope you b-day was wonderful! you deserve it!
