My Funny Hubby

Matthew is that guy. The one who says the corny, sometimes slightly inappropriate (but not crass) comment at just the wrong time. People laugh, people groan, and I just smile. Because he's mine. And I love him.

In the middle of the night last night, as I was sobbing like a baby on the bed, my calm and patient better half was trying to help calm Benjamin down while the nurse and the IV tech tried for 45 minutes to get blood. At one point, I came out from under my fortress of pillows to get a Puffs Plus (never leave home without them) and I heard Matthew say to Benjamin, "I know what's wrong with you! It's your daddy's bad breath!" (I couldn't really argue with that assessement...)

Earlier in the evening, just before we went to bed, we realized that we were out of bottles of water in the room. Knowing we'd need some before morning (and we did), Matthew volunteered to go all the way to the van to get the flat he'd bought from Walmart a few days earlier. Now Matthew is not fashion conscious. At all. But for some reason, I saw him grabbing some clothes to change into. I looked at his clothes and assessed. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and a pair of blue basketball shorts (think Tarheels blue). I said, "Why are you changing clothes? What you have on is fine." He said, "These are different shades of blue!" Then I looked down at what he was changing into. Yup. Another pair of basketball shorts. Color? Blue. But a darker shade than his shirt. Evidently Fall fashion dictates that when you go down to the parking garage at a hospital at 10:30 p.m., your shorts must be darker than your shirt.

My next post will hopefully contain some videos.

Guys can be so funny with their sports attire. Tim has been wearing a jersey a little too often lately. I told him that there is no way the jersey will ever be documented on the blog.

Tell Matthew he can come in for a free teeth cleaning at Tim's office when you get back. Tim says that if you floss correctly you will NEVER have bad breath. I don't think that is true though. :)

I am so glad you have each other and that you love each other and that you can LAUGH in such horrible circumstances.

Gerry left for church on Sunday with a navy blue shirt, black belt, black socks, and brown shoes. Seriously. And didn't care one iota.

Okay, totally LOLing at that story!! Scott is not uptight about much, BUT he rarely, if ever, leaves the house in a shirt without a collar. For some reason he doesn't wear t-shirts out...that is my hubby's funny fashion quirk.
How wonderful that you can laugh, and make us, your faithful readers, laugh during this time!!
Are ya'll still sleeping on a twin size bed? I can't imagine you are getting good sleep which i'm sure makes everything even harder.
