Broccoli, Take Two and SITTING!!!!!

I hate to outshine a momentous occasion like BENJAMIN'S FIRST TIME SITTING, but I wanted to first tell you that we had broccoli for dinner again last night. As many of my loyal blog readers remember, this hasn't gone over well in the past. For a good laugh, watch The Broccoli Incident.

Well, here is a short video of last night's broccoli. This video is entitled, "Proof that Spankings Work." ;)

**Don't forget to pause the music at the bottom of this page!!**

While you have the music paused, check out this video of BENJAMIN SITTING! We often will leave him on the rug in the great room surrounded by toys to just play. Well, just yesterday I noticed that he had gotten both legs under him but simply did not have the trunk strength to push himself up. That is his weakest area--his trunk. So this morning in physical therapy we worked on it some more. This afternoon, right before nap, I walked in there and FOUND HIM SITTING! I was flabbergasted! I ran and grabbed the camera and started snapping pictures. Andrew came down the stairs to see what the commotion was about as I was videotaping it. Granted, he wasn't 100% upright and he tumbled after about 90 seconds, but WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, this does not mean he can now sit independently. He's still way too weak for that. In fact, his physical therapist and I were talking just this morning about how he might just crawl (or army crawl) before he sits simply b/c it's more motivating. But now I don't know! Here is the video and then some pictures (which were taken right before I shot the video). Then I just added some really cute ones from today when he was playing.

Since I did "Not Me! Monday" yesterday, I feel compelled to do "Wordless Wednesday" tomorrow. Most of you are familiar with this. Bloggers post just a picture (or a few pictures) but no words. Oh. Wow. It will be hard. I took three today of Andrew that I think will work. But no words? But my middle name is Verbose! ;)

"I didn't even get a spanking."

OMG that is so disturbing on so many levels, but it made me LOL.

So cool!!! We are so proud of B!! I have to say Paul and I both were laughing out loud at the Andrew video. Emma says things all the time to her stuffed animals like I am going to count to three and then you are going to time out. The other day she said to me "Mommy, I am going to have to spank your bottom!" I was like I think not!!!

So thankful Baby B has made such great progress and that while we are waiting for it, no one is worried when it will happen. Having him do things slower than normal has given us more time to love him. Won't be long before we will have to close the gate in our livingrooms so he is safe from the stairs.
Glad Andrew seems to tolerate his broccoli.

Yay Benjamin! I love seeing his smiling face. Alexis just informed me that he is "Sooo adorable!" I must try spanking more often. If it can get Andrew to eat broccoli (I still laugh about the broccoli incident) it must be able to improve my children's bad behavior! :)

Way to go everybody! That was such a fun post.

Good for you B. That is a really goodlooking posture for him to be in right now with good weight bearing through his shoulders and twisting of the trunk and hips. That may not be sitting independently Angela but he seems to be well on the way to me. And I agree with "Mom" in saying that motor delay in our kids just means that we get to enjoy them being a baby a little bit longer than other people which we at our house love.
