A *much* better night!

I think I slept from 10:00 until 6:00. I feel like a new woman. The only interruption was another unsuccessful blood draw at 4:30. I swear, Jim is the only one who can get blood. He's quick and he's good. If any of the other IV techs show up to draw blood, I have to leave the room (though I can hear him screaming no matter where I go on the floor unless I exit the double doors and that's a bit much to do at 4:30 in the morning with bedhead and pj's). So that blood draw was unsuccessful (something about the way it clots b/c of the way it's taken) and Jim came back at about 8:00 and got it in a few minutes with little crying.

Benjamin has been in a mellow but adorable mood this morning. We've gotten some really sweet smiles. He is not eating as long as he was a couple of days ago, but maybe he's gotten back to his old efficient self.

Time to eat breakfast and take a shower. You know, just like a normal person. :)

Thanks for the update- and I bet Steph will be glad to see it too!
So glad to hear that you all got a good night's rest and that Benjamin is in good spirits today. Hope your day is a good one today! My Benjamin (3 years) was just here sitting on my lap and said, "That baby is cute! I like about him his smile!"
Still praying!

take care bloggy friend!

Angela and Matthew- Your dad and I are sure getting used to an adorable two-year old here in this house! His little singing and talking to his friends is just precious! He is so tender and cute! He slept until 9:15 this morning and I did too! Ummmmm We are just now eating our porridge. We will get him back on your schedule; don't worry. Glad you all had a good night's sleep. Can't wait to read that you are coming home. Mom

I am so happy you slept! I hope you are just as funny with sleep!
I am well!! Praise the Lord, I am well!! NO fever and my throat is not hurting anymore!!
The boys prayed for Benjamin today during school. It was so cute. Bubba said, "why do we pray everyday before school?" and I said.. "you tell me why." and he said, "because we have to pray for baby Benjamin". I had not even mentioned him yet! We all love him!!

Yay for sleep! I'm so glad you were able to get some good rest. And I'm thrilled to read that Benjamin is all smiles again. Praying that you all get to go home soon.

I'm so excited to hear the word "normal" in your post. I love hearing that Benjamin is coming through like a trooper and smiles are showing up. I know you're anxious to get home to Andrew, but he's obviously in wonderful hands. Have I mentioned just how much I love your mom and dad?!?! I can't wait to read the phrase, "We're coming home." I know it will be soon. Stay strong. You're an inspiration to me.

Love,
Melanie

Guess who is coming to Nashville tomorrow!?!?!
yep, Benjamin's #1 fan.
But don't worry, I had wanted to make a surprise visit but I won't because of germs. I do want to drop something off for you though.
I don't think I am contagious but want to play it safe. You have no idea how I want to kiss Benjamin's cheeks all over so I better not get too close.
Email me.
We will be staying at a friend's house in Nashville over night.

ps Time to update!

Maybe you can write a note to the hospital about how you appreciated Jim, because in hospitals, that sort of stuff (letters, which we typically don't even have time to do) often come up at evaluation/raise time. Not to mention, it's just nice to be recognized after the hospital stay is over. :)
