Several of you have wondered how Andrew has been doing with all of this. Let's just say he is having a BLAST at my parents' house. Seriously. He doesn't miss us and will be sad to go home. My mom has the week off (Fall Break) so she has gotten to entertain him all day long! My sister-in-law has been watching him some during the day, too. They have lots of cute stories to tell. We miss him SO much! I love hearing his little voice on the phone. I'm sure he will seem five years old when we see him again.
They just came and did another echocardiogram to check how his heart looks post-surgery. We should hear the results in a little while. In the meantime, Matthew went on a run, Benjamin is getting his chest percussions, and I am eating my free hospital food. (Breastfeeding moms get three meals a day!)
More to come from me later. :)
Rascal Flatts performing. So exciting!!
Benjamin's not so sure what to think of it all. He still has wires connected to him that were plugged into a small box. That lets his nurses upstairs know what his vitals are.
Look at his little hand stamp! We had to have this to get in the concert.
As Rascal Flatts left, Cinderella came out!
We all said the magic words ("Bibbity, Bobbity, Boo!") and out came more friends: Mickey, Minnie, Snow White, and Dopey!
We feel like giants!
The band came out about 20 to 30 minutes after they left the stage. It was a much smaller group, and they just mingled with everyone, talking to the kids and parents, taking pictures, and signing autographs. The staff all had Polaroids and took lots of pictures for us.
All three members of the band are in this shot. The two in the forefront and then the guy with the dark hair (kind of spiky) in the direct middle of the picture.
What fun! It was so great to see the older kids meet them.
**I forgot a couple of pictures! And, for any other RF fans, the songs they sang were: "Fast Cars and Freedom," "What Hurts the Most," "Winner at a Losing Game, "God Blessed the Broken Road," "Mayberry," and "Bob That Head." They sounded great in person!
The signed poster. All three of them signed it:
The Disney people gave away plush toys to the kids. We got a Mickey for Benjamin and a Cars one for Andrew.

Hey Angela...my name is Jennifer. I'm on BZ. I think we may have been in the same DD club a couple of years ago. I've recently been sent to your blog by a fellow BZer and just wanted you to know I've been praying for your little guy.
My husband plays with RF. They come to The Children's hospital every year and do a little show. I wanted you to know that playing for those kids means the world to them. They LOVE it. It's not just something they do for publicity or anything...they truly love it. They will donate all their proceeds from the concert they are having here in a couple weeks to the hospital.
Anyway...just wanted to say hey from a fellow BZer.
Isn't it a blast?! We got to go last year when Kennedy was at Vandy for chemo! Glad you got to do that!
